La Yimone Reviews
The lady is so nice always greets me .The food is delicious ... I love that is so like going to your aunt restaurant kind of vibe . homemade taste love it.
One of a few restaurants opens 4th of July! We visited around 7pm and ordered fermented soybean stew and beef, and boiled pork belly. Loved the stew, super authentic and boiled pork belly was soft and no bad small at all. The owner was really nice. I definitely wanna come back soon to try other menu.
Amazing Asian food taste. If you don't like hot spicy? Go to other restaurant. This place is perfect experience for Korean spicy
Came around 11:30am on a Saturday for lunch and within about 10 min the restaurant was completely full. Everything is in Korean so be sure to ask for an English menu if you need it. We went off the Yelp reviews and got the oyster bossam and beef rib soup with veggies (no actual pieces of beef). The bossam itself was good, where the meat was a nice balance of lean and fat. The accompanying radish kimchi was well fermented and went well with the meat and oysters as well. The shrimp paste was a little too pungent for me. I would only get the oysters if you're really into them because they give you a very generous amount of it. We like oysters and didn't even finish half of it. I can't say this is my fav bossam in Ktown but would recommend if you really like oysters because I don't know of many places that have that as an option. Despite not having pieces of beef rib, the soup was delicious! It was hearty and flavorful, although I wish there was a bit more cabbage. This was probably my favorite of the two dishes we ordered. I really enjoyed their spread of banchan as well! Nowadays not a lot of places don't give you japchae so that was a pleasant surprise.
My perfect to go spot when I need Korean food. Got to know this spot for its agujjim, monkfish, which is one of the best in the area. My Mom really enjoyed it and their mild agu soup as well (jiri). I got bossam to go this time and it did not disappoint. It's mostly older people eating in the small restaurant, so it's perfect to go spot for me.
Service is a little rough around the edges but I'm assuming it's just because they've been at this for years and they know their food is delicious. Possibly the best tasting simmered cod in spicy sauce that I've had in years. Loved that they put a few pieces of rice cake which I've never seen any other place do. Portion size is perfect for two, maybe three, with a bunch of tasty side dishes. The dish usually takes a while so I recommend calling it in before you get there.
If you want to go where a lot of Koreans head to for some real authentic Korean food you've got to come to La Yimone!! The food is incredible and it's like being at a family's home with the authenticity it provides. I'm glad they have a menu with pics since I don't read or speak Korean. I ordered some soup to go. Prices are still reasonable for what you get.
